MIP (Minor in Possession)
Alcohol Education Program for Minors DSHS State Approved
Education Resource provides state approved MIP classes certified by Texas Department of State Health Services. This class is for persons who are under the age of 21 who have received citations for alcohol related offenses. Upon completion of the course, the participant is presented with a Texas State issued numbered certificate.
Examples of alcohol related offenses by a minor include:
Students must register (online or by phone) prior to class in order to attend. Thirty minutes will be allowed at the beginning of the class for forms to be filled out.
There are two class sessions that must be attended in the proper sequence.
All assigned worksheets and papers must be turned into the instructor in order to obtain the certificate of completion.
Students must make a score of 70% on the final test to receive a certificate of completion.
Beverages and snacks are permitted during class sessions. Smoking is not permitted inside the building.
Cell phones and all electronic devices must be turned off during class.
The fee for this course is $60.00 (cash or credit card through PayPal) payable at registration the day of class. The option to pay by PayPal is also offered when registration is completed online.
The fee for the class is to be paid on the first day of class. If the student does not have the entire amount, a $20 down payment is required for entrance to the class. The entire fee must be paid by the last class day or the student will have to repeat the class and will lose their entire down payment.
